Get Involved. Make a Difference.

YSIH doesn't happen without people who are willing to pitch in, get involved and make things happen.

Whether you have a few hours to spare, want to be part of the team throughout the year, or simply want to meet great people and help create amazing experiences for young people, we'd love to have you on board.

There are three ways you can get involved:

1. Join the Management Team

​

Our Management Team meets online once a month from March to November and helps coordinate the day-to-day running of YSIH.

Each team member takes responsibility for an area of YSIH's operations and works alongside the wider team to keep things moving.

You don't need to be an expert. You just need to be enthusiastic, willing to learn and keen to make a difference. If you're organised, creative, good with people, or simply someone who likes getting things done, there's a place for you.

2. Help Out with Your Regional Team

Our Regional Teams run events for students across the country — and they can't do it alone. There are plenty of ways to lend a hand. You might help welcome students, guide people around an event, assist with registration and ticketing, or simply be an extra pair of hands when things get busy.

3. Be Part of the National Convention Team

 

The National Convention is the biggest event on the YSIH calendar, and making it happen takes a whole team of people behind the scenes.

There are two ways you can get involved:

Join the Convention Team

The Convention Team meets online for around 30 minutes each week from July-September in the lead-up to National. Everyone takes on a few small jobs, and together those jobs add up to something pretty big.

You could be helping us connect with sponsors, organising a raffle, making arrangements for the day, or taking care of one of the many other jobs that need to happen behind the scenes.

There are lots of little jobs — and many hands make light work.

Volunteer on Convention Day

Convention Day is when we need the most help.

We need volunteers to help with:

• Welcoming and assisting students and guests

• Door and crowd control

• Traffic and movement guidance

• MC and stage support

• Registration

• Helping people find their way around

• General event support

• And plenty of other little jobs

You don't need to give up your whole day. If you can spare a few hours, we'd love your help.

Ready to get involved?

You don't need a special qualification. You don't need years of experience. And you definitely don't need to know everything. You just need to be willing to help.

Every volunteer makes a difference — and together, we make YSIH happen.
